House Hunting

Well, we may be getting ahead of ourselves in the Cullins household but so be it! We're currently waiting to hear back from the bank about a lil' thing called a mortgage. And when I say lil' I mean BIG, like in HUGE deal! If we play our cards right this will mean more space (which we need), no noisy neighbours (which my sanity needs), a place with a dishwasher (which Keith's sanity needs) and above all else, a place we can call home TOGETHER!

When I met Keith I was in an apartment and while that was great and all, they kept raising my rent. It had gotten to the point that we were spending a majority of our time together and it just made sense. Plus, I bitched and moaned about them raising my rent and I expressed how I would prefer to live in a box to save money for a place to own instead of renting and call it my home. As in, that's right, I OWN you biatch OOOWWWWNNNN you! lol.

Keith being the Knight and Shining Armour that he is 'allowed' me to move in with him as a result of my bitching and moaning.lol. Of course, this came with consequences. Smaller place = less entertaining for the Kimster. :(
And, if anyone knows me at all, they know how much I like to entertain! That's right, this girl knows how to paaaarrrrrt-aaay!!! Mmmm...wiiiine. hehe.

Okay, okay, where was I heading with this? OH! RIGHT! So we've been looking online even though we're not sure if we'll get the loan or not but whatever, it's fun. What people post AMAZES me to the point that I want to put a note on their door or contact their Real Estate agent and be like 'FOR REALZ?'

Such as:
One add stated 'Basement appears to be made of concrete but no guarantee'. Like ZOINKS, no thank you! lol.

Another add had one picture to which I was like 'ONE picture - of the bathroom'? It's like, 'Thanks for showing me where I can piss & shit, is that where I eat and sleep too'? Again, ZOINKS and no thanks! lol.

And, the search continues.....

Odds and Ends

While it seems our furry critter is gone, we are still de-marley-proofing the condo and finding 'remnants' of him around. Not like poop or anything (lol) more like foam padding he dug out from behind the couch or things that he got into that we haven't put back in their place. Like today, I got to put the toilet paper roll back on to the actual dispenser! I mean, it's nice to have the toilet paper back where it belongs but let's face it, obviously we'd rather have Marley kicking around and destroying the toilet paper. :(

In any event, I came across the last photo we got of him before he left us (far too early in life) to go play and chitter in pet heaven.

Again, isn't he cuuuuuute? :)

A new thing around here seems to be that odd species are putting up camp on our balcony. In a previous post I spoke of the spider we noticed that is OHSOGROSS! But not only has he refused to acknowledge my eviction notice, it seems that he's actually expanded and done some home renos! If I wasn't deathly afraid of him I would bitch-slap him off of our property. Instead, he and I have a nightly date where I tip toe passed him to sit on the balcony to enjoy the evening. And of course, instead of looking at the sky and enjoying the 'scenery', I end up watching him the entire to time to make sure he's not planning an attack on me.

On top of the whole shinnanigans with the BEAST of a spider, I went out one day to find this:

Like, WTF is THAT?! Most people would say a 'bee' but I BEG to differ! That was no f'ing BEE! That was some mutant that came from another planet! The picture doesn't do any justice as to how big that ugly thing really was! We measured it at about 3/4 the length of my thumb and probably twice the fatness! And the wings, BLECH, the WINGS looked like they were made of plant leaves but thinner, like almost see through. The weirdest thing was that it didn't really have any intentions of moving. It just sat there, hanging out like he/she too was checking out the property at an open house. I almost offered it some coffee or tea when I realized, oh right, this is my land BIATCH! So I did what any self-respecting woman would do. I went and got Keith! He came to my rescue and beat the crap out of that thing and that was that! As much as I hate the BEAST of a spider, I felt I kind of owed it to him since he settled on our property first. Plus, that thing in that picture above was a FA-REAK of nature. I mean, so are spiders but I think in this case, the BEAST of a spider is the lesser of the two evils. No?

Da Biebs!

Hey everyone,

I feel like it's been forever since I've posted. I've kind of avoided signing in to tell you the truth. It's hard signing in and seeing my last posting with pics of our dear, sweet cuddlebug of a F***NUGGET Marley. :(

Things have certainly been quiet around here and we're missing him tons! I'm still in the habit of getting out of bed earlier to play with him before hopping in the shower. At night when I hear a random sound, I think it's him ransacking his cage. And in the evenings, instead of playing around with him and getting irritated that he's trying to climb up my pant leg, I'm missing him trying to climb up my pant leg.lol. To pass the time and make it more bearable at home without him, I feel we've just been avoiding home more often. I know with time it'll get better but for now, it's still just...hard. :s

Anyway, I was thinking tonight on how there are so many puns in conjunction with Justin Bieber such as 'Bieber Fever' and I thought - the next big thing will be an excersize video called 'Biebersize'! I'm documenting this now so that I have rights (to some of the profits) because I'm 100% positive that within a year from now, there will be some tween exercise video with teeny boppers dancing around with 'jazz hands' to the music of the Biebster.lol. And, if it's really good, it will star the Biebs' himself. Although, I have a feeling that if he was in the actual video it would end up looking something like his concerts which would involve 13 year olds looking like cougars and crying the entire time. :s

Would I buy 'Biebersize' when it's released (because we all know it's GONNA happen?)
Helz to the NO! I'm old fashioned and prefer my 'Sweatin' to the Oldies'. Which coincidentally enough happens to be a bunch of actual cougars who happen to be crying, and sweaty! lol. That's right, I'm HAWT! :p

A tribute to Marley

Sorry to start things off on a sad note but it's basically been a horrible week. :(
Not only have I lost my ability to sleep for the past two weeks but sadly, we have lost our little Marley, our adorable, lovable F***NUGGET.

It's been hard to say the least and quite the adjustment. He was our first 'baby' together as a couple and we just loved him OH SO MUCH and already miss him OH SO MUCH.

So without further ado, here's to Marley: You were here for a short time but you will remain in our memories for a lifetime. You brought us much joy, laughter, entertainment and cuddling (even if you didn't want to be cuddled). :)

Isn't he just the cutest thing you've ever seen??? Ah, this is really hard so I'm just going to end this posting here....

Marley and Me

Dang, I've been so forgetful lately! I meant to post this pic of Marley and me. Since I've been off this week, we've had some good quality time. I know some people thought we were freaks when we got a ferret but whatev - we kind of are freaks and PROUD of it.lol. We love him and that's all that really matters. Kind of hard not to love a face like his, or MINE for that matter.lol. Like how I can make anything about me? - it's a talent. :p

As for being forgetful...ugh, it's been ridonkulous lately! I'm not sure what's gotten into me! Last week I went to the ATM at our local 711, punched my numbers in, took my card out and walked away. Went up to pay for my items, opened my wallet and I was like 'Uuuuhhhh, where's my money'? Then I felt myself barf up my heart and I ran back to the ATM in the corner of the local 711 and THANK GAWD my money was still there. Like, calls don't get closer than that. It could have been easily gone in a second had someone noticed it since I lulled around the store for a few minutes and then waited in line for a few minutes. All I can say is PHEEEEW and send a shout out to the BIG man upstairs for looking out for me in that moment! :)

It's good to be back...

It's good to be back on the NET!

I think that Keith and I should get a medal for surviving 3 and a HALF days without the internet. It was horrible, we actually had to kill time by actually doing things together. NAH, JUST KIDDING! lol. It was really quite nice not to have the distraction of the net especially while I was on holidays. I was forced to go out and do stuff instead of mindlessly perusing the world wide web!

I'd like to say that on my outings I did some productive things but then I'd be a liar. Hhhmmm, then again, I had no witnesses to argue that I wasn't productive....in THAT case - I WAS productive. teehee.

Meh, you can judge for yourselves. :) I spent one day drinking wine, eating cupcakes and crap while watching movies with a good friend. We watched 'The Hangover' and had some good laughs. I forgot how rindonkulous that movie is but I mean that in a good way. Every time I think of the one character realizing he's missing a tooth, I giggle uncontrollably - I may or may not have peed a little. :s

Another night Keith and I went out for supper with my best gal pal of all time and her husband who's like my brother from another mother. It was really nice because we rarely go out and wine and dine ourselves. Plus, the food was delish and D & R were great to visit with. Usually when we get together since we're all so short on time it's a gong show of friends and kids which is always fun and entertaining. However, this one time, I was a wee bit selfish and loved having the two of them to ourselves. :)

Yesterday, I went furniture shopping with my gal pal Flynns and she picked out a new bed set so like how JEALOUS am I?! Oh how I long for the day when we get a bigger place and I can redecorate and buy pretty things and paint and make a nice comfy home for us. But that's like FOREVER away so enough of that pipe dream for the time being. I did notice one thing though, furniture seems to have gone down in price which is like YAY! So if any of you are looking to buy, now is the time to go. I believe The Brick is doing a sale tomorrow where it's 20% off! If only I had the mo...okay okay, I'll stop. I mean, I'm not bitter at aaaalllll about how I can't get the couch I would marry if it were legal. Oh, and of course if I wasn't married to Keith. :)
Although, it's hard to resist wanting a guy THIS adorable when he sleeps. (honey, please forgive me but I just haaad to). I could honestly just HUG ATTACK him when I see him like this!

And while Keith rested just like he is in the the picture above this morning, I handled our internet, our prrreeecious getting hooked back up. Really, all I had to do was answer the phone when they called at 8am but still, 8am - don't these people realize I'm on VACAY baaaaabeeeee?!

Speaking of my vacay, it's almost over which is a little sad. I kind of feel like I just had a long weekend and it's only 2 more days till I'm back to work. However, I am thankful that I had a week to just do whatever I wanted when I wanted. I got some good visiting in, some great R&R in and of course, I got to enjoy lots of food and wine. teehee. I'm also thankful that I had the week off because apparently I'd come down with a case of insomnia for a few nights in a row. No shocker there since I occasionally go through periods of insomnia which can easily drive a person batty. I'm used to the lack of sleep but I guess I'll never get used to random nights of trying to sleep and getting so angry about not being able to sleep that I end up unbelievably frustrated. Buuuut, that's a story for another time! I think I'm well on my way to getting my internet 'fill' for the day.

LATA! :)

First two days of my vacay 'excursions'...

Aight, so here's the lowdown! I have been BEGGING anyone that goes to Clear Lake, Manitoba to bring me back some cinnamon buns from the bakery! And oh, how it finally paid off! (It only took say, oh, about 5 years.lol.) However, my ANGEL of a friend J.G. texted me yesterday and said 'Hey, I got you a couple of cinnamon buns, when can I drop them off'? I was like, 'Um, please tell me you're actually downstairs right now ready to buzz me with the goods'!!! Okay, I didn't say that but I thought it. I can't even try to describe how absolutely yummy and scrumptious they are! I mean, even after a day in a vehicle they were a delight but OOOHHH, to have them fresh from the bakery - I think I would DIE! So, in a way it's a good thing they were not-so-fresh when they got here. I mean, I CAPITAL L-O-V-E them, but I would prefer not to die.lol.

Today my friend Jenn D and I headed to Moose Jaw for some shopping and wondering aimlessly. After trying the slots at the Moose Jaw Casino (and sucking at it), we went to check out the local shops and when I say local shops, I mean the one store with all the yummy fudge. And of course, I bought fudge - chocolate mint to be exact. I cannot wait to get my sweet tooth into it but it will have to wait. Why? Because if there's a trip to Moose Jaw, there's a trip to the Deja Vu cafe which means I had a milkshake and (lowers head in shame) wings.
EEP - this vacay = WEIGHT GAIN! :s

Anyway, after Moose Jaw we headed to Buffalo Pound and NNNNOOOO, we DID not get lost even though we overlooked a sign right in front of us but we thought we were going the wrong way so we turned around and drove passed a sign that had an arrow pointing in the same direction we just turned away from saying 'Buffalo Pound' and when we turned back from the actual wrong direction and saw the sign that we totally overlooked I did not say 'NnNnNnOoOoO' shaking my fist in the air. Pfft, that SO did NOT happen. teehee.
So yeah, after not getting lost - we got to the beach and hung out on the lawn and got some suuun. FINALLY! :)

Then after baking for 20 on one side and flipping and baking on the other side, we went for a stroll. A short, but perfect stroll. Along the way as we're yapping Jenn D randomly shouted 'A SNAKE - KIIIIM, A SNAKE'!!! Thank goodness she did because I was juuuust about to step on a creepy crawly snake. I handled myself pretty well though as I only jumped maybe a foot in the air and yelped only a little.lol. I didn't have my camera so we went back to the truck to get it and in the safety of the truck we drove back to where it was. Jenn D took pictures and DID not toss some rocks at it to see if it was dead.lol. Okay, she did toss a few teeny tiny rocks at it to see if it would budge and it didn't. Dead or alive, I would have FAAAAH-REAKED if I stepped on it. Apparently, and this may or may not be true, but the more colorful a snake is, the more poinsonous it is. Check out the colors on this MF! :s

Alas, I am alive and perhaps the snake is or is not. Although, it really is a shame. As much as snakes creep the SHYTE outta me, it is kind of beautiful in a 'Lady Gaga with makeup on' sorta way. OH SNAP! lol.

GOTCHA!

I bet you guys thought that was all I was going to type in my previous blog. But nope, I tricked you. I'm still here but yes, I'M ON VACAY BEBE! :)

So far I started my holiday off by going to watch some friends tie the knot last night after work. It was a beautiful night but not as beautiful as mine and Keith's wedding but that's only because I'm bias. lol.

This morning I have attacked the dishes and managed to clean out two cupboards that were overridden with Tupperware and random crap. I wanted to get it out of the way so that I don't spend my entire vacay cleaning and purging and rearranging and etc.

So here I am mapping out my time and it goes a little something like this:

Eat
Nooky
Nap
Boom Boom
Sing like I sound like Lady Gaga (and perhaaaps like I look like her) :s
Eat
Lovin'
Moose Jaw
Bake? (maybe)
Do the Tango while eating cookies
Eat
Huggin'
Sleep
Movies
Dance around Condo like I'm have a grasshopper in my pants
Buffalo Pound
Nap
Kissin'
Some cleaning and laundry? (maybe) teehee
More Boom Boom

*And above all else - random stuff that puts a smile on my face.

If I do anything uber fun you will be sure to see pics.

Cheers everyone and have a wonderful week!
Love
Kim

ps. OH, and of course DRINKS will be had because my wonderful husband bought me a BIG BAG O' BOOZE to work on while I'm off. Nobody knows me better. Thanks love!

I'm on VAAACAAAY!

'Nuff said! lol.
